Conophytum longibracteatum (Brakfontein)

This was lost to cultivation for many years until rediscovered by Peter Bruyns in the 1990s. It grows south of  Komaggas which is the home of C. auriflorum, but seems distinct from that species with its red-lined, keeled bodies. My TS749 from north of Komaggas was originally identified as C. longibracteatum, but I now think that it is an extreme form of C. auriflorum because I have found intermediates that are morphologically and geographically intermediate between that species and TS749.
